Our readers loved it, and made it the Music Video of the Year, giving it 52% of the vote.

Prince Royce had some tough competition in the Song of the Year, but his fans proved to be “unconditional”, like the title of his song, which gave him enough votes to take home the prize.
BEST DUO OR GROUP: WISIN Y YANDEL
This Puerto Rican duo is really on fire these days, and won in our Best Duo or Group category with 27% of the popular vote. Venezuelan duo Chino y Nacho came in second place, gathering 20% of the votes.
ALBUM OF THE YEAR: JUANES MTV UNPLUGGED
Juanes made a big comeback in 2012, going back to basics on his awaited MTV Unplugged, and our readers responded: The Colombian singer took our Álbum of the Year award, with 54% of the vote.
BEST TELENOVELA: LA QUE NO PODÍA AMAR
La que no podía amar (Univision) was the Best Telenovela of 2012, according to our readers. A very controversial love story, this soap opera got 45% of the vote, while a far second place went to the more comedy-driven Por ella soy Eva (also on Univision), with 27%.
KING OF FACEBOOK: PITBULL
It’s not surprising to see someone like Pitbull take the King of Facebook. With more than 25 million Likes and 35% of the vote, Mr. Worldwide takes the crown.
QUEEN OF FACEBOOK: DULCE MARÍA
Mexican singer/actress Dulce María has over 2 million fans on Facebook. Not the biggest number, particularly if you consider the fact that she was up against the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Shakira. However, get this: She was able to pull a whopping 60% of the vote. Talk about hardcore fans. And the fact that she’s online quite a lot. What’s she doing in this picture, updating her status?

Ever seen that goofy “superhero” on Latino TV dressed in a tight red suit with a hood and yellow antennae? Yes, the one that’s been parodied in The Simpsons as Bumblebee Man. Well, this old man right here is the creator of that character (and many others), aptly called El Chapulín Colorado, or (literally) The Red Grasshopper. Mr. Roberto Gómez Bolaños joined Twitter in June of 2011 and has since gathered well over 4 million followers. Latinos all over can’t love him enough, and made him the undisputed King of Twitter, with 57% of the votes.
STAR OF THE YEAR & BEST ACTRESS
Mexican actress Lucero was the undisputed winner in our Best Actress category, thanks to her character in Por ella soy Eva, Univision’s successful telenovela also starring Jaime Camil. Lucero got a whopping 65% of the popular vote in our reader’s poll. She has also been picked by the editors of People en Español as the Star of the Year, thanks to her 32 successful years in showbusiness.
BEST ACTOR: EUGENIO SILLER
Eugenio Siller, who played the successful Cristóbal Parker on Telemundo’s Una maid en Manhattan, took the Best Actor, with 35% of the vote. Behind him came Jaime Camil, with 26%.
BEST TELENOVELA VILLAINESS: LETICIA CALDERÓN
The evil Isadora, of the telenovela Amor Bravío (Univision), got the final laugh. Actress Leticia Calderón was chosen by our users as the Best Villainess of 2012, with 40% of the popular vote.
BEST TELENOVELA VILLAIN: CÉSAR ÉVORA
Cuban actor César Évora has managed to keep a very loyal fanbase through the years, and it’s paid off. Dionisio, his character on Univision’s Amor bravió took the Best Villain award with 44% of the vote.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A TELENOVELA: SUSANA GONZÁLEZ
Cinthia Montero, her character in the telenovela La que no podía amar (Univision), made Susana González the winner in the Best Supporting Actress category; 33% of our users favored her in our poll.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A TELENOVELA: CARLOS DE LA MOTA
Dominican actor Carlos de la Mota was both surprised and proud to find out he’s been picked as the Best Supporting Actor in a Telenovela, thanks to his role as Santiago Escudero in Univision’s Por ella soy Eva. De la Mota took 28% of the vote, and in second place came Colombian heartthrob Fabián Ríos (from Telemundo’s Corazón valiente) with 23% of the vote.
BEST TELENOVELA COUPLE: ANA BRENDA CONTRERAS & JORGE SALINAS
The chemistry between Jorge Salinas and Ana Brenda Contreras on Univision’s La que no podía amar made them the Best Telenovela Couple by far this year. At least that’s what most of our users thought, as the pair took 65% of the popular vote in our poll.
BEST NEW ACTRESS: ZURIA VEGA
Her role in the telenovela Un refugio para el amor (Univision) gave 23-year-old Zuria Vega 50% of the popular vote, to take home our Best New Actress.
COMEBACK OF THE YEAR: BELINDA
Boy, was this one close. Young Mexican singer Belinda released her album Catarsis after a long couple of years. Juanes‘s MTV Unplugged was also a big favorite. In the end, Belinda took the Comeback of the Year award with 49% of the vote, vs. Juanes’s 47%.
BEST FEMALE TV HOST: GALILEA MONTIJO
As host of Univision’s reality talent show Pequeños gigantes, featuring kids performing all kinds of musical acts, Galilea Montijo won the hearts of TV viewers everywhere. She took our Best Female TV Host award with 32% of the popular vote.
BEST MALE TV HOST: RAÚL GONZÁLEZ
Venezuelan host Raúl González, who appears on the small screen early in the morning on Univision’s Despierta América, should be extremely proud of his fans for giving him 27% of the vote, just enough to beat the legendary Don Francisco by one percentage point, and win in our Best Male TV Host category.

At 54 years of age, Mexican journalist Jorge Ramos has been a staple of Hispanic news for decades. It is no surprise that he was picked as the Best Male News Anchor with 59% of the vote.

Puerto Rican journalist María Celeste Arrarás has been hosting Telemundo’s news show Al rojo vivo for 10 years. She wins our Best Female News Anchor with 44% of the vote.
BEST ENTERTAINMENT SHOW: DESPIERTA AMÉRICA
Energetic, packed with laughs, music and news. This is the formula that made Univision’s morning show Despierta América a favorite among our users, who chose it as the Best Entertainment Show of 2012, with 27% of the vote.
