Danna García is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful Hispanic actresses. However, the 33-year-old believes that it is one’s outlook on life what really makes one beautiful. “The most important thing is how you feel about yourself. If you’re fine, if you are content, cheerful, if you’re a positive person, if you see the glass half full and see the good side in everything, then you will be beautiful,” says the telenovela actress.
Her most important advice when it comes to beauty and good health is to drink plenty of water. “Drink water, water and more water. And when you finish drinking water, drink some more,” she stresses repeatedly. “The truth is that it helps in everything, not just in hydrating your skin, but it also helps in your digestion, makes you feel revitalized and cleanses your organs. It is very, very healthy. You can have it anyway you want, whether it is ice cold or spa water, the point is to drink water.”
PROTECT YOUR SKIN
One essential step in her beauty routine is applying sunscreen. “I wake up in the morning, and even if just stay home, reading a book, I always apply sunscreen. It is essential, taking into consideration everything that is happening with the ozone layer and the [damaging effects] of ultraviolet rays. So, you have to apply sunscreen,” emphasizes the beautiful actress.
CAN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT…
“Mascara, because you express so much with your eyes; people look into your eyes when they talk to you and eyelashes frame your eyes,” explains García, who loves Maybelline mascaras, particularly the Lash Stiletto. The actress also applies a bit of mascara on her brows to give them a hint of color.
The Bogota native, who is the face of the Garnier Nutrisse Hair Color, tells us how she preserves her hair color. “To prevent hair color from fading , you have to keep your hair hydrated. So,I don’t wash my hair every day, but every two days; this way the natural oils and moisture in my hair help keep it hydrated”, says the actress who also likes to apply leave-in conditioners before styling her hair to protect it from humidity.
BEAUTY IN MY KITCHEN
If you suffer from dry hair, which was her case when she wore her hair curly, the actress recommends a homemade avocado mask. Take a ripe avocado and mix it with a bit of olive oil and mayonnaise. “Anything made with natural ingredients is good for the hair,” she says.
GAZE OF A WOMAN
Her eyes are her favorite physical asset. “I like them because they’re so expressive. A person can say a lot with a single gaze,” she attests.
Danna is not a fan of strict diets or extreme exercise routines. Her secret for maintaining her great figure lies in her keeping active: “The most important exercise is having an active lifestyle. I always take the stairs up to the fourth floor. When I’m busy filming and don’t have time to exercise, I do my best to stay active throughout the day. And when I do have the time, I prefer outdoor activities, such as riding a bicycle or jogging. I’m an outdoors person. This makes you feel better; when you walk outside, you feel happier and you breathe in fresh air. I also like group classes. I love to dance and I try to do pilates. I think the most important thing is to do something you enjoy.”
ON HER PLATE
“I don’t do diets, but watch what I eat. I eat lots of fruits. I have fruits or a smoothie for breakfast and drink natural juices throughout the entire day. I try not to deprive myself of anything, but it’s important to be conscious. I love sweets, for example, but I don’t eat a whole dessert”.
WOMAN OF STYLE
Danna always looks super chic on the red carpet. “I consider myself a fan of elegance and good, but above all, I believe that you need to respect femininity, whether your style is modern or classic, you should always celebrate a woman’s figure.” Among her favorite designers are Alberta Ferrati, Giorgio Armani, Alexander McQueen, Angel Sánchez, Silvia Tcherassi, Eduardo Lucero and Rosita Hurtado, who designed this beautiful sparkling dress for her. “Rosita is a marvelous designer, someone who respects a woman’s silhouette, she know what looks good on you and what colors fit you better. Working with Rosita is a great pleasure, she knows me very well,” expresses Garcia.
“We all came to this world to be happy, so my advice is do what you love, follow your dreams, be content with who you are and be happy day to day. Everything else, like your outfit and how you look, is all just a complement of what you are. However, what’s important is how we feel about ourselves and our outlook on life. Everything else will eventually fade way, physical appearance will fade; everything, including success, is temporary. The most important thing is to be happy day to day because we deserve it.”
