This Venezuelan beauty was crowned Miss Universe 1986 in Panama, a triumph which jumpstarted her career making her the face of many ads worldwide and eventual spot in the television industry.Â Palacios is now a mother of two and lives in Miami, FL where she works with her feminine product company and offers motivational speeches based on her life experiences.
An actress at heart first, this Puerto Rican and Dominican diva was recognized as in 2003 when she was elected Miss USA.Â When she isn't in front of the cameras she is out making the world a better place, in addition to writing the book Confidence is Queen: The Four Keys to Ultimate Beauty through Positive Thinking.Â Susie lives in Los Angeles, CA with her two Chihuahuas Oscar and Lupe.
In 2001, this Puerto Rican idol took the stage for the first time as Miss Universe.Â After giving up the crown, Denise concentrated on acting school in New York City where she currently resides and in which she takes the stage in the plays Doña Flor y sus dos maridos (Ms. Flor and her two husbands) and Pantaleón y las visitadoras (Capt. Pantoja and the Special Services).Â Up until recently, the former beauty queen was romantically involved with Calle 13 front man, René Pérez Joglar for three years.

Many know her for the time she spent together with Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin, but it was in the eighties that she was known in Mexico for her triumph in the beauty pageant Señorita Mexico.Â Now, she continues with her passion for television and most valiantly helping young children suffering from cancer with the Rebecca de Alba Foundation.
After doing a few television commercials as a child, Paola Turbay became Señorita Colombia 1991 at the age of 21 and came close as runner up the following year at the Miss Universe pageant.Â This model and actress is without a doubt one of Colombia's most beautiful who now lives in Los Angeles working on primetime American television.
Early on in her life she wanted to be a dentist but destiny had different plans for her which included a dazzling crown and a future in television.Â In 1993 at just 19 years-old, Torres walked on stage as Miss Universe making her the youngest woman in history ever to take the title.Â Afterwards, she made her mark in films and even in music with her 1998 album Antifaz.Â In 2000 she wed Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony and dedicated time to a family which in turn only lasted four years until their divorce and the revival of her career including writing the bestselling book, Married to Me: How Committing to Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce.

Her beauty and talent lead her to represent her hometown of Jalisco as the winner of the pageant Nuestra Belleza Mexico in 1994.Â After some time alongside Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo on the variety show Al ritmo de la noche she found her knack as an actress in Spanish soaps.Â González now lives in Mexico City with her husband Bernando Martínez and her son Santiago.
This Mexican starlet started off as a chorus singer for her sister Viviana and later caught the attention of the entertainment world when she won the beauty pageant of her native San Luis Potosí.Â Since then, Bárbara followed her career in music making her one of the most memorable regional Mexican artists of our time.
Hailing from Costa Rica, this beauty represented her country in 1978 at the Miss Universe pageant in Acapulco, Mexico.Â Since then Mexican fans have regarded her as an icon and eventually found her talent in television.Â Today, she is one of the hosts of the show Muévete on the Televisa network.
Beatriz Martínez Solórzano – her birth name –, daughter of popular comedian Jesús Martínez 'Palillo', was crowned Miss Mexico in 1963.Â Her work in television, film and theatre stretches over 40 successful years and today continues to act in many of Mexico's Spanish soaps.
Who could forget the year 1987 when the now television host was the first Chilean women to be elected Miss Universe.Â Bolocco then caused a bit of a stir in 2001 when she married former Argentine president Carlos Menem, a man 34 years her age, after meeting him during an interview at the presidential estate.Â Although having led a good career in television, the controversy followed her after she was spotted topless with an employer in Miami leading to their eventual divorce in 2007.
Not only was this woman the first Mexican to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1991, she followed suit the next year by giving Mexico their second as well.Â Currently she is now the director of the Nuestra Belleza Mexico pageant and has also been a judge on the popular Nuestra belleza latina (Univisión) as well.
Former beauty queen Cynthia Olavarría developed her acting and modeling skills at a very early age.Â She placed first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2005 pageant in Thailand, being the first Puerto Rican to ever do so.Â This talented young woman graduated with a degree in Communications and Public Relations and is currently in Miami working on writing her first book in fashion and beauty.
You can catch her now on the popular talk show Casos de familia (Univisión), but back in 1981 she proudly wore the crown as Miss Mexico.Â The Monterrey native started her career in television with the program Estilo and in time became involved representing the needs of her fellow citizens.Â Grace is also involved in politics and contributing services to the public.
