The singer and other Latinx stars have shown their support for Harris joining the Joe Biden ticket.

Demi Lovato showed her support for Kamala Harris, who has joined Joe Biden's ticket and is running for vice president. "We are in a battle for the soul of this nation. But together it's a battle we can win," Lovato wrote on Instagram, quoting Harris and sharing photos of herself with the California senator. The singer, of Mexican descent, added a heart emoji, expressing her love for Harris, who is the first Black woman to be nominated for national office by a major political party.

Legendary Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno also expressed her joy on social media after the announcement that Harris would be joining presidential candidate Joe Biden as his running mate. "The bells are tolling! So proud and so excited at Kamala Harris's naming by our future president, Joe Biden! She will undoubtedly chew and spit out any male OR female who takes her on. Well done, VP Biden!" the One Day at a Time star wrote on Twitter.

Mexican American actress and activist Eva Longoria also expressed her support for Harris and Biden. "Here we go!" she captioned a photo of the Demoratic duo. "Let's do this!"

Harris expressed her excitement to run for vice president last week on Instagram, writing: "Joe Biden is a leader who can unify the American people, because he's spent his life fighting for the American people. And as president, he will build an America that lives up to our ideals. I'm honored to join him as our party's nominee for Vice President, and do everything it takes to make Joe Biden our next Commander-in-Chief."
