Amy Schumer bought a $2,000 mattress for a store employee who let her use the bathroom
We're pretty open about our immense love for funny lady Amy Schumer. She tackles a TON of important issues through her brilliant standup and sketch comedy, and she is never afraid to tell it like it is. And Schumer just bought a $2,000 mattress for a store employee, proving she's also into random acts of kindness.
According to Chicago's WGN News, the whole thing went down when Schumer was out on a jog on the streets of Chicago and had to make an emergency pit stop at a local mattress store. A store employee, Sagine Lazarre (who did not recognize the star), happily pointed her towards the bathroom. Schumer was so grateful for the hospitality that she later asked Lazarre which mattress was her favorite, and then BOUGHT IT FOR HER ON THE SPOT.
via GIPHY

Lazarre said it all couldn't have happened at a better time, since she and her daughter had just moved into a new apartment.
"It's amazing, mind blowing. I'm still shocked," she told Chicago's WGN News. "After she left, I Googled her name. The lady that was right there talking to me is Amy Schumer. It was amazing. Unbelievable."
What we think we love most about this story is that we literally never would have known about it if Lazarre had not come forward. Schumer committed a random, quiet act of kindness, never expecting anyone to find out about it - and that truly speaks volumes about her.
If you're wondering where you can see Schumer next, worry not. Her new movie, Snatched, hits theaters on May 12th. Needless to say, we can't wait!
