This Is How Prince Harry Is Spending His First Valentine’s Day as a Married Man

Prince Harry has special plans for Valentine's Day — and they aren't exactly red hot!

Harry, 34, is spending the day with the Royal Marines in the harsh freezing lands of Norway.

The prince will leave wife Meghan Markle back in the U.K. as he heads north on February 14 to see how the marines are training in the demanding and hostile environment 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle.

In his role as Captain General of the regiment, former army captain Harry will see how Exercise Clockwork — the traditional name of the annual winter exercise — has trained over 16,000 Royal Marines and Royal Navy sailors and airmen since 1969. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the exercise.

Despite the distance, Meghan will find a way to make the day special for the couple. As she once revealed on her former lifestyle site, The Tig, “Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day.”

And with their first child on the way, this holiday is bound to be their most romantic yet.

Harry took over the Captain General role from his grandfather Prince Philip, 97, in December 2017, as the Duke of Edinburgh gradually gave up some of his patronages surrounding his official retirement from public life.

Harry will fly to the Air Station in Bardufoss, Norway, to meet some of the personnel living and training over six months of the year on the base. He is set to view a variety of outdoor Ground Training Stances, which will demonstrate the equipment and training that is conducted at Clockwork.

During the multinational exercise, personnel are taught how to survive, operate and fight in the extreme cold weather and gain experience of operating aircraft in severe cold weather and mountainous environments.

The prince is also likely to see some of the specialist aircraft housed in a hangar – including Apache helicopters, which he flew on his second tour of Afghanistan in late 2012.
