Festival People en Español 2013, a multifaceted celebration representing the best of Hispanic entertainment and culture, returns to San Antonio, Texas. The festival will take place Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, with a schedule that includes daytime events as well as a series of evening concerts.
Wisin y Yandel, Alejandro Fernández, Demi Lovato, Jencarlos Canela, Frankie J. and Bobby Pulido are among the stars confirmed to appear on the Alamodome stage, which will be the main destination for locals and visitors during both nights. Renowned producer Emilio Estefan will be in charge of masterminding the concert series.
“People are going to enjoy an incredible spectacle. It will be something special,” Esteban said in a February San Antonio TV interview, where he visited the Alamodome facilities. “Last year’s first edition was a complete success and we’re always looking forward to making things better. We will have one of the greatest celebrations for Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike.”
The musical performances will be complemented by free of charge daytime activities, to be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Besides Canela and Pulido, who will partake in special presentations, there will be celebrity appearances by TV presenters Myrka Dellanos and Cristina Saralegui as well as actors Rafael Amaya and Marjorie de Sousa. Motivational speaker and writer María Marín, celebrity trainer José Fernández and Disney Channel star Deuce Martínez will also join the festivities.
