Verónica Castro is opening up about reconciling with her estranged son, Mexican singer Cristian Castro. According to the actress, even though they've only spoken over the phone, she has finally gotten back her son after nearly two-and-a-half years of being distanced.

"We know each other really well. I could sense in his voice that he wasn't doing well. He heard my voice and knew that he could count on my support," the singer's mother said in an interview with a Mexican magazine. According to the 54-year-old, the first thing she asked her 33-year-old son was, "What's wrong, Cristian? How are you?" He responded, "Now that I hear your voice, mom, I'm fine."

The actress explained that she called to offer support as Cristian goes through a divorce from Valeria Liberman, whose relationship with Cristian's mother has been shaky. "She's resorting to the laws of men, but at times like these, I prefer the laws of God," she said, adding that the 33-year-old Liberman will likely be surprised to learn that she and Cristian have reconciled. "I don't think Valeria expected that there would be forgiveness, after how aggressive they were with me the last time we saw each other."
