Niurka Marcos is used to being the center of attention and now the eccentric Cuban actress is making news again with her wardrobe. Marcos modeled a creation of Mexican designer Mitzy that featured a hand-painted image of Verónica Castro and her son Cristian on the back. Mitzy’s latest collection includes this extravagant dress, paired with a hand-painted cape that features the image of 33-year-old singer Cristian Castro giving his mother, 56-year-old actress Verónica Castro, some flowers.

The fashion show, held in Los Angeles, was meant as a tribute to Mexican diva María Félix, who wore some of Mitzy’s designs.

“I feel happy… enthused, womanly, feminine, beautiful and proud to wear this gorgeous dress made for a star”, the dramatic Marcos said. The 40-year-old Cuban actress added that the design was meant to portray a mother’s love, loyalty and courage.

Mexican singer Dulce and actress Aleida Núñez also walked the runway. Mitzy said that the idea behind making the dress had nothing to do with Niurka. It was meant as a surprise, a special piece to honor Verónica Castro, the queen of soap operas.
