Glamor and fashion reigned at Jungle Island in Miami, FL, where the second annual gala benefit Be Live, was celebrated in honor of various Colombian organizations.

Be Live 2008 was packed with people who went to support various social causes being championed by the Latin American country. The Colombian singer Cabas, actress Catherine Siachoque, race car driver Juan Pablo Montoya, TV hosts Raúl de Molina, Ilia Calderón, Giselle Blondet and Vanessa Hauc were just some of the celebs that attended the event.

Several objects were donated for auction to raise money for the causes including Gloria Estefan’s signed guitar, Fanny Lu’s iPod, filled with all the music she listens to, and some keepsakes from the Dodge Number 42 Big Red car driven by Juan Pablo Montoya. Purses, Cartier watches, and even a Fernando Botero painting were among some of the other items.

Colombian designer Esteban Cortázar, also presented his Spring/Summer collection for Emanuel Ungaro. During the final hours of the fete, guests danced to the live music of Colombian musician Carlos Vives.

All funds will be donated to various non-profit organizations, including Fórmula Sonrisas (fundada por Montoya), Génesis, Colombianitos, United for Colombia, Gift to Colombia and Gift for Colombia. Last year, $900,000 were collected.
