Raul de Molin is struggling to cope after the death of his mother, Mrs. Maria de Molina, who died at the age of 76 in Miami, FL, around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Mrs. de Molina struggled against bone cancer for approximately 14 years.

In the midst of a pain he described as “intense”, the host of El Gordo y la Flaca (Univision), 49, has the support of his wife, Mily de Molina, and his daughter, Mía who are in Miami with him. El Gordo, de Molina, made a heartfelt statement which expressed the great love he feels for his deceased mother:

My mom was my partner and the only thing I had in my childhood for many years when conditions were difficult in Cuba, Spain and the United States. But thanks to her infinite love and dedication, I was always happy.
I'm going to miss my best friend and accomplice, after having watched her bravely battle against a cancer that could've robbed her from us years ago. But I feel privileged to have been her only son, and also the person who loved her the most up the last second of her life.
It's never been more necessary to remember that heaven exists when your mother passes away, and that's what I'm trying to do to face this intense pain, with the help of my wife and daughter. Thank you all for your affection towards my mother. You were all part of that great big family that she was so proud of finally having.
Raul has requested that in lieu of flowers, relatives and friends should send donations to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, a research and treatment center for cancer patients that is part of the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami. Donations can be sent to:
