Hamilton Parody: If you keep up with trending topics, you know that the Broadway hit Hamilton is all that people can talk about nowadays. The hosts of the award show, Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson, performed a monologue with a short medley inspired by the musical. “Here is a gentle arrangement of 2016's hottest tracks in the style of Hamilton,” said Ross.<iframe webkitallowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" allowfullscreen="true" share="BET" src="http://

Justin Timberlake Backlash: Social media during the show was on fire as well. It started with Jesse Williams accepting the humanitarian of the year award with a speech about racism and cultural appropriation that moved everyone in the audience and at home watching. The speech also inspired popstar Justin Timberlake who was later criticized for this tweet showing support to the actor and responding to one user's comment. Timberlake went on to apologize for the misunderstanding.

Usher Gets Political: The singer wore a green jacket with the words “Don't Trump America” on the back in bold, white print for his performance. Usher is not holding back to let the world know how he feels towards the Republican presidential nominee.
