Actress Maribel Guardia could very well be Edith González's replacement in the Mexican musical, Aventurera [Adventurer], if the producers can convince her to play the role of Elena Tejero.

"They've been trying to lure me in and I'm very tempted. And you know, I adore Carmelita Salinas, and the Vallejo women are divine, so we'll see what happens," said the 48-year-old to Televisa Espectáculos.

"I think the hardest part would be to schedule it with Muévete [her TV program], because, you know, I get there at 5 a.m., and I wouldn't be able to work Friday nights," said Joan Sebastian's ex-wife.

With Edith González gone to shoot a film in Colombia, Carmen Salinas and other producers of the musical have been trying to decide for weeks who should take her place, and they're confident that Maribel Guardia could act, sing, dance, and easily transition right into the lead role.
