Marc Anthony Could Miss JLo's Delivery
With his wife's due date only days away, the singer says he's excited to be a father, but he has a concert in Puerto Rico on Feb. 8
In a phone interview with Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día, Marc Anthony revealed his excitement to be a father again and that he'll be at his wife Jennifer López's side when she gives birth. One thing the singer's worried about, though, is his Feb. 8 concert in Puerto Rico; he's hoping the mom-to-be won't go into labor while he's working.
"I've been with her 24 hours a day, and I'm going to be away from her for just a few hours…she can't go into labor during that time. I mean, I'm praying that doesn't happen. We're both waiting for that moment," said the 39-year-old singer, who'll fly to Puerto Rico for his show, then immediately fly back to New York.
When asked if his wife's absence could affect his performance, he answered: "Even though her presence is really important to me and I love when she's there, I have more experience onstage without her than with her. We're very clear with each other, we understand each other, and we know that one thing doesn't have to do with the other. I'm me, Marc," he affirmed.
When speaking about López's pregnancy, the typically reserved singer only spoke of his excitement to be a dad again. "Each pregnancy is different…unique. Of this one, I can say that it's been absolutely beautiful," revealed the father of Cristian Anthony, 6, and Ryan Anthony, 4, products of his marriage with former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. He also had a daughter, 13-year-old Arianna, with Debbie Rosado. For now, it's unknown whether López and Anthony will welcome one child, or two.
The singer didn't offer any more details, but his rep denied rumors that López was hospitalized and that the couple had already picked a name for their child(ren).
