Fher Olvera is beaming with joy: his girlfriend, Ana Ivette Verduzco, gave birth to a healthy boy, delivered by C-section, who will be named Dalí in honor of the famous Catalan painter. The joyous event took place last Friday in Guadalajara, México.

“The moment we have waited for these last nine months is here. At 2:56 p.m., our son came out of the womb like a ray of light, shiny and wet, and with an impressive cry that shook the walls of the delivery room. It was a cry that brought me back to the essence of being human,” the happy 47-year-old father stated in a press release, after noting that the baby weighed six pounds and measured 19 inches.

“The doctor picked up the baby and turned to us. Dali would not stop crying until he felt, cradled in his mother's arms, Ana's heartbeat which soothed him as if by magic for he was once again in a familiar place,” he added poetically.

Although the couple had wanted to bring their baby into the world through natural childbirth, the doctors had to perform a C-section five hours after his mother went into labor because the baby's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. Both mother and little Dalí are in perfect condition.
