Lindsay Lohan is headed back to the big screen. After spending the summer in rehab in Utah for a substance abuse problem, the U.S. actress returned to Los Angeles to begin shooting the film Dare to Love Me.

Lohan, 21, was already gearing up to work on the movie, which will be directed by Alfonso Arau and costar Jaime Camil, last July, when she was arrested for a DUI and cocaine possession in Santa Monica, CA.

The actress' mom, Dina Lohan, told People.com exclusively that her daughter, who just checked out of the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center a few days ago, is happy and anxious to start working again. Lindsay still has to spend a day in jail to make good on the agreement reached during her hearing.

Meanwhile, Lohan filed a lawsuit against Raymundo Ortega, who initially accused the actress of negligence during a 2005 accident in West Hollywood, CA. He claimed that Lohan was watching the paparazzi over her shoulder instead of watching the road, but the starlet alleges he was the one guilty of negligence in the accident.
