Katy Perry shares her skincare routine and favorite products
Katy Perry is making her mark in the beauty world. The singer just recently launched a collection with Covergirl that includes 11 demi-matte lipsticks in a range of colors and a blue mascara with more products in the works that Katy says she is “creating right now.”
To celebrate the launch, Covergirl and Katy invited editors to talk about the line and she shared some of her skincare tips and odd tricks.
Along with the tip to not fall asleep in your makeup, Katy suggests to get a nice steam for your face. “You can go to your gym or boil a pot of water over the oven and make some steam,” she said.
The singer also shared her favorite nighttime product— Shu Uemura cleansing oil, which she learned about from Madonna‘s makeup artst Gina Brooke. “I hated all these other products that kind of left a residue and I never felt really clean and she [Gina] was like well Madonna uses this oil… and I hate oil but I love Madonna so I did it and it changed my game.”
Katy applies the oil on at night with dry hands, takes it off with a warm wash cloth and leaves the residue on as a moisturizer over night.
During the day, the ‘covergirl' sticks to Proactive that she has been loyal to since the age of 23 after facing problems with acne. She has represented the brand in advertisments for years.
Perry isn't like most artists when it comes to wanting the glowy tan at all times of the year. The 31-year-old says she tries to stay away from fake tans sharing, ” I've always regretted it even with the best tanners in the world and even exfoliating right before it. I can't— the science hasn't been perfected yet.”
Katy finished the conversation with her trick for sweat-proof-makeup in which she revealed that powder was the all around key but her “nasty” secret was actually: seat covers. “Seat covers in the bathroom are perfect blotting papers.” Who would've known!
