The death of another victim from grupera music scene was announced today. José Luis Aquino of the Mexican band Los Condes was killed on Wednesday. The 33-year-old trumpet player was found underneath a bridge in Oaxaca, Mexico, with his hands and feet bound and a plastic bag over his head.

According to a report from the State Attorney General's Office, the body was found by citizens in the town of Etla, in the city of Oaxaca. Aquino had received blows to the head, which was covered in a pillow case and a bag, indicating that he could have been suffocated.

The Mexican program La oreja (Televisa) reported the tragic news after the musician's father, Julio Esfrén Aquino Hernández, identified the body. Aquino was reportedly killed “to settle a score,” which his father denied. “I don't know of any threat, I think the crime is a result of the lack of safety in this country,' he explained, adding that he found out about the attack from the media after seeing a body that resembled that of his son's.

For now, authorities are investigating who is responsible for the death of Aquino, whose remains are being kept in Oaxaca.
