In an interview broadcast on Cotorreando (Telemundo), José José’s ex wife Anel said that during her marriage to the Mexican singer she had such “horrible thoughts” like committing suicide and killing her children because she never understood why nothing worked. “Neither my love nor [the fact] that I abandoned my entire career and my entire life for his love [worked],” said the Mexican actress.

Anel, 63, explained that in the midst of their tempestuous 17-year marriage, she considered mixing poision in some juice and giving it to her children, Marisol Sosa, now 25, and José Joel Sosa, 31, to end their lives. She also said that in the first five years of marriage, she experienced wonderful moments but it all changed with the birth of their son, José, due to her post-partum obesity.

Fifteen years after her divorce from José José, now 59, the former beauty queen has written a tell-all book about her life with the “Lo pasado pasado” crooner. She sent the first copy of the soon to be published book, Volcán Apagado, to the Mexican singer.

According to José Joel and Marisol’s mother, this book “more than an indictment” is a way of reminding her ex husband that “I too existed. And the truth is that I love that today he’s got such a terrific [life] situation, but hold on, I gave him my life,” she said.
