It's World RBD Day!
Fans all over the globe will celebrate their favorite group by wearing black, white and red to band-related events
The Mexican band RBD is officially a phenomenon. Fans all over the world will celebrate the musical group today, “World RBD Day.”
Festivities kicked off yesterday in Mexico, when Anahí, Maite, Dulce María, Christian, Christopher and Poncho got together with select fans, members of the press and representatives from their record label, EMI, to make Oct. 4 their official day. Today marks the three-year anniversary of their formation as a group on the telenovela Rebelde.
An EMI press release said now is the time to “celebrate all of the group's successes,” made possible by everyone involved in the RBD project over the years. “Their creator, Pedro Damián, is also taking part in festivities with the band on this day that will surely become an annual event,” the record label's press office stated.
And the celebration goes way beyond Mexico. On their website, the RBD fan club in Spain announced that they'll be enjoying the international festivities as well, along with fan clubs from Argentina, Peru, the United States, Brasil, Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador and Cuba. According to the site, all fans attending the worldwide event will sport the RBD colors: black, white and red. They will also collect clothing for earthquake victims in Mexico and Peru.
