Iran officials accuse Kim Kardashian of being a secret agent
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp, which is responsible for policing domestic culture and watching the influence of other nations, is taking Kim Kardashian's social-media influence seriously.
The agency is accusing Kim of working with Instagram as a secret agent to corrupt the minds of young people, reported Iran Wire.
Mostafa Alizadeh, spokesman for the Organized Cyberspace Crimes Unit, appeared in an Iranian news program and stated that Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom is trying to make fashion modeling a part of the culture in Iran and Kim Kardashian is the person implementing this plan.
“Ms. Kim Kardashian is a popular fashion model so Instagram's CEO tells her, ‘make this native,'” said Alizadeh. “There is no doubt that financial support is involved as well. We are taking this very seriously.”
Revolutionary Guards claimed that the images certain celebrities and social-influencers, including Kardashian, promote an anti-Islam lifestyle. They have warned 170 individuals, 29 of whom are being targeted for prosecution, and they claim to have arrested individuals responsible for some 350 Facebook pages.
