Gloria Estefan is joining the all-star lineup that will rock the stage at the 2013 Festival People en Español, to be held on August 31st and September 1st in San Antonio, Texas.

“Performing in San Antonio for Festival People en Español is a true homecoming for me,” said Gloria Estefan. “My roots run deep in San Antonio, and I'm looking forward to performing at Festival. It gives me the opportunity to reconnect with my fans in San Antonio and from all across the country.”

Gloria moved to San Antonio with her family at the age of 5, and lived there briefly in the 1960s. It was in San Antonio that she learned English thanks to a teacher, Dorothy Collins, with whom she still keeps in touch.

This great celebration of entertainment and Latin culture will also feature other recently confirmed stars like Cuban American hip hop star Kat Dahlia, The Chris Perez Project and 3Ball MTY.

These artists will join previously confirmed acts like Wisin y Yandel, Demi Lovato, Alejandro Fernández, Jencarlos Canela, Bobby Pulido and Frankie J, as part of a two-day series of concerts at the Alamodome to be produced by Emilio Estefan. Nightly concerts will be complemented by celebrity-packed, free-of-charge activities taking place during the day and through the weekend at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Television presenters Cristina Saralegui and Myrka Dellanos are set to host panels, while telenovela stars Marjorie de Sousa, Jencarlos Canela and Rafael Amaya are also scheduled to appear. ‘Chiquis' Marín, daughter of singer Jenni Rivera, will also make an appaearnce to take part in a special tribute to her late mother. Singer Bobby Pulido will also be present at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center prior to his nighttime performance.
