Gaby Espino can’t hold in her excitement when it comes to being pregnant. The Venezuelan actress, 30, and her husband Cristóbal Lander didn’t hesitate to share the good news with the press.

“I’m pregnant. We’re very happy. I’m going to be a mom,” she told the Venezuelan press. “You can’t imagine how happy Cristóbol and I are,” she said, adding that she thanks God for this amazing life gift.

The pregnancy, though, has led her to resign from her starring role on the Telemundo soap El engaño, which she’s been working on in Mexico. The network, whose parent company is NBC, sent out a press release explaining that “we’ve mutually decided that she stop working on the Telemundo novela.”

This week, the network also announced the departure of actor Fernando Carrillo from the show. After that news came to light, it was said that the soap would start over the recordings from scratch as soon as a replacement for Carrillo is found.

The actress will be heading home to her native Venezuela, where she’ll prepare to be a mother. Espino mentioned that as soon as her baby is born she’ll continue with her acting career.
