Festival, Back in San Antonio "Inspiring the Next Generation"
Festival People en Español returns to San Antonio for the third time on Labor Day weekend.
During the weekend of August 30th and 31st, a stellar lineup of celebrities, speakers and family fun activities will take over the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center with one big purpose: “Inspiring The Next Generation”.
“Latino Millennials, who comprise more than a third of People en Español's audience, are leading the country's positive trends in educational attainment and are making tremendous strides,” said Monique Manso, publisher at People en Español.
“People en Español is dedicated to ‘Inspiring the Next Generation', from San Antonio and around the country, by celebrating our youth and presenting empowering content and interactive experiences for the entire family this Labor Day weekend.”
Among the international influencers and stars attending this year's event will be Argentine actor, model and entertainer Julián Gil, professional boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, television legend Don Francisco, and Dra. Ana María Polo of the popular TV show Caso Cerrado (Telemundo).
Disney star Zendaya will headline the Chicas Poderosas concert taking place at the Lila Cockrell Theater from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. on August 30th.
Other celebrities scheduled to appear throughout the weekend are actress-singer Maite Perroni; telenovela star Sara Maldonado; singers Priscila Ángel and Jaci Velásquez; TV personalities Myrka Dellanos, Poncho de Anda and Alejandra Oraa; actor Eduardo Verastegui, singer-actors Mane de la Parra, Carlos Ponce and Gabriel Coronel; actress Génesis Rodríguez, and comedienne Cristela Alonzo.
In response to audience demand and enthusiasm for last year's robust lineup of fan meet-and-greets and main stage presentations, Festival People en Español is expanding its daytime offerings with a substantial increase in celebrity talent and twice as many performers.
Each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Festival's free daytime experience will feature engaging onsite activities for attendees, free giveaways, movie screenings, authentic San Antonio cuisine and more from the community's favorite brands.
