Erika Buenfil feels relieved now that everyone knows Ernesto Zedillo Jr. is her son's father
After the uproar over the news that architect Ernesto Zedillo Jr. is the father of Erika Buenfil's son, the Mexican actress says she feels relieved, more at peace. However, she said she is still angry at TV Azteca's journalist Inés Gómez Mont for disclosing it on her show Ventaneando.
“I'm content because I feel at peace. I'm content because I wasn't made a fool of and that I'm sure of,” the 43-year-old actress said on Televisa's show La Oreja. Nevertheless, she did not hide her anger towards TV hostess Inés Gómez Mont, who revealed that Ernesto Zedillo Jr. is the father of her 3-year-old son Nicolás.
Buenfil said she dated Zedillo Jr., the son of Mexican ex President Ernesto Zedillo, for two months in 2004. A while after, when she was already eight months pregnant with his son, Zedillo Jr. married his current wife, TV hostess Rebeca Sáenz, with whom he has two daughters.
The actress, who starred in the soap opera Amor en silencio, said once again that what had bothered her the most was that her son's father had broken an agreement. Zedillo Jr. promised Buenfil he would never make any public statements about Nicolás to protect everyone involved.
In an earlier interview aired on Televisa Radio's OK! W, Buenfil said about Gómez Mont: “She had no right to talk about my son's private life. It's a situation that only involves his father and I. It was arbitrary, she told [the story] the wrong way.”
On the same radio show, the Tres mujeres co-star said she only communicated with her son's father through email. “I've never gotten anything from him. He doesn't support me or my son [financially],” she added. “I haven't had any contact with him. Nobody has called me. No one but me has the right to say how things happened.”
