For weeks, rumors have been flying that members of the group Kumbia All Starz haven’t been getting along. The band’s latest controversy concerns 37-year-old guitarist Chris Pérez – ex-husband of deceased Tejano star Selena –, who many claim is planning to leave the group. But lead singer A.B. Quintanilla told the press that the rumor is not true.

“In response to recent rumors that our guitarist Chriz Pérez is leaving the group, we want to explain that these rumors are not true, and that Chris continues to be a member of Kumbia All Starz,” Quintanilla told the press.

The 44-year-old also announced that the group is promoting their new CD Planeta Kumbia, and confirmed that they will perform during the Billboard Latin Music Awards April 10 in Hollywood, Florida.

Recently, the former Kumbia All Starz vocalist Pee Wee left the group because of differences between him and Quintanilla.
