The Elizabeth: The Golden Age star's new baby will arrive in April
According to Australian newspaper Sydney Morning Herald, actress Cate Blanchett confirmed that she’s pregnant on the red carpet Saturday night at the Sydney premiere of her new film Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
“Yes, I am,” the 38-year-old actress told reporters when asked if another baby was on the way.
And when asked if the rumors that she’s having a boy are true, Blanchett responded: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”
The new baby will be the third child for the Oscar winner (The Aviator) who already has two boys, Dashiell John, 5, and Roman Robert, 3, with her husband, writer and director Andrew Upton.
The actress has said that she hopes to spend more time in her native Australia once the baby arrives, and that she still plans to co-direct for the Sydney Theater Company with her husband.
