Carlos Santana's Wife Files for Divorce
Deborah Santana is leaving the Mexican musician after 34 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences
Carlos Santana's wife has decided to end her 34-year marriage with the Mexican musician. According to Associated Press, Deborah Santana filed for divorce in the Marin County Superior Court in California on Oct. 19, citing irreconcilable differences.
Michael Jensen, the 60-year-old guitar player's publicist, said the case “is a private matter and there is no comment.”
In 2005, Santana's wife published Space Between the Stars, a book that described how her husband had been unfaithful.
The “Oye como va” singer expressed remorse after the book was published. “I sincerely apologized to her and to my kids when I wasn't in my right mind and did something hurtful. It has helped me become more humble and to try harder to be the man she wants me to be,” he said.
The two live in San Rafael, CA, and have three kids whose ages are 17, 22 and 23. In 1998, the couple set up the Milagro Foundation, a nonprofit organization that benefits underprivileged kids around the world.
