Björk Attacks Photographer at Airport
The Icelandic singer was furious when her picture was taken while arriving in Auckland, New Zealand
Early Sunday morning, Icelandic singer Björk became enraged when she was photographed by the local media while arriving in Auckland, New Zealand, where she'll be giving a concert this Friday. The 42-year-old artist was so upset that she tore a photographer's shirt, the New Zealand Press Association reported.
“I took a couple of pictures … and as I turned and walked away she came up behind me, grabbed the back of my black skivvy (T-shirt) and tore it,” New Zealand Herald photographer Glenn Jeffrey told the press.
Jeffrey also informed that the artist was silent during the attack, but that her companion repeatedly told her: “B, don't do this, B, don't do this.”
This is the second press-related altercation for the singer, who in 1996 attacked a journalist in Thailand. Although no charges were filed, she apologized by sending flowers to the journalist while she was recovering from the attack in the hospital.
