Behind the Scenes at Premio Lo Nuestro
We found out what Dayanara Torres, Cristián de la Fuente, Enrique Iglesias and Ivy Queen were up to at Miami's AA Arena
If you think what you saw on your TV screen was exciting, you should have seen what we saw at the 20th annual Premio Lo Nuestro awards! Our pick for the best highlight? The passionate kiss a journalist planted on Enrique Iglesias' lips. The Spanish singer got flirtatious with the press, and some journalists even acted like groupies!
His most daring pursuer was without a doubt voluptuous Cuban TV host Mayi Salas from the show Quiéreme Descalzi (América TV). Sporting a blue wig and fake gold eyelashes, she climbed on the stage and stole a kiss from him. Careful Anna Kournikova! Salas gushed that smooching the Spanish heartthrob was a “religious experience,” adding that “he has juicy lips.”
One celeb they couldn't seduce, though, was Mexican actor/producer Eduardo Verástegui. The sexy star smiled subtly when asked if he really believed in celibacy. Verástegui assured that he would stay true to his vow until marriage. “Women are the most beautiful things on Earth, and the most important woman in my life will be the mother of my children,” he expressed, adding that “sex is a sacred thing, and I want to save it for my wedding night.” Spirituality must be an aphrodisiac for this green-eyed actor.
A man who's definitely not celibate is Chilean actor Cristián De la Fuente, who continues to be happy with his wife, actress Angélica Castro. What he does practice, though, is fidelity, as the new Dancing with the Stars (ABC) contestant says he's tied to “only two women.” But don't jump to conclusions – he's talking about Angélica and his 3-year-old daughter Laura. De la Fuente added with a sly smile that they might be giving her a little brother soon.
Another happy dad was singer Fher from the group Maná, who said that he's trying to spend as much time as possible with his son Dalí, 7 months. “I really like giving him baths – he's like a little fish. He loves the water just like his dad,” Fher said. The Maná leader also reminisced about the first time he heard one of their songs on the radio. It was a Sunday, and he was driving around with his then girlfriend, searching for a secret spot to have a make-out session. “We left the radio on, and we were fooling around,” Fher remembered. When the song came on, he cranked up the volume and nearly made the girl go deaf he was so excited.
One woman who also hasn't forgotten about her significant other is Dayanara Torres, who is still romantically involved with Amaury Nolasco. The former Miss Universe remained mum on the topic of JLo's pregnancy, and opted only to speak about her professional ventures, such as the book Married to Me: How Committing Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce, which will come out in June. Torres wrote the book with the help of her sister Jinny, who's a psychologist. The Puerto Rican beauty queen also appeared in a music video for the song “You're Beautiful Now” from singer Alex Woodart; the video will premiere soon on VH1. And as if that weren't enough, she's also collaborating on the website HotMomsClub.com, which is dedicated to giving advice to and motivating women who try to balance motherhood and careers.
Another one who always causes a stir is Ivy Queen, and this year was no exception. The reggaeton singer showed off her glamorous new haircut and thanked her ex for getting out of her life. “Everything's been going much better now that I'm not with him,” the best urban album winner said. When asked about beating Daddy Yankee and Wisin y Yandel, she gushed: “It's a magical night – I don't want to wake up. It's like I'm dreaming.”
