Behind the Scenes at the Latin Billboards
What happened before the show? We have the inside scoop straight from the red carpet
Before the 2008 Billboard Latin Music Awards began, PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL walked the red carpet at the Hard Rock Live ampitheater to find out all the latest dish from your favorite stars.
María Antonieta Collins and Rashel Díaz looked more radiant than ever at the event, maybe because both Telemundo TV personalities showed up with new male companions! The Mexican host of Cada día con María Antonieta hit the carpet on the arm of a handsome mystery man.
As for Díaz, the Cuban TV host revealed that she and Cuban arquitect Daniel Sánchez are officially an item. “I'm very happy,” Díaz gushed, “living the love day by day.”
Who else showed off their romance on the red carpet? Argentinean TV personality Candela Ferro and Mexican actor Khotán. The Al rojo vivo fin de semana (Telemundo) host said it didn't bother that she wasn't asked to emcee the 2008 Latin Billboards, as she had in years past. This year, the honor went to the Cuban Aylín Mujica. “I also like to enjoy the show from the other side,” explained Ferro, who was one of the presenters. Khotán confessed his upcoming plans for his girlfriend – a special trip to the beaches of Careyes, Mexico, this summer. “That's the place where I get energized,” the actor said of the getaway, “it has amazing views.”
And one woman in need of a vacation is dancing queen Diana Reyes, who opened the show with other artists. The Mexican singer admitted that she's been very fatigued lately. “All the work has worn me out. They put me on five-day bedrest,” she said, “but my batteries are charged again.” Fearing the dreaded worst-dressed list, Reyes debuted a new look at the event. Designer Miguel Ángel Masjuán and stylist Leonardo Rocco made sure that didn't happen.
