Angelina Jolie returns to the screen
After the birth of the daughter she had with Brad Pitt, the actress will play the role of a widow in A Mighty Heart
Angelina Jolie is ready to return to work after the birth of Shiloh Nouvel, the daughter she had with Brad Pitt. It was confirmed that she will be the protagonist in the film A Mighty Heart, based on the memoirs of Mariane Pearl, widow of Daniel Pearl, The Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002.
“I am thrilled that Angelina will play my character in the adaptation of my book. I deeply admire her work and respect her commitment,” stated Mariane Pearl in regards to the choice of Angeline Jolie, in a press release issued by Paramount Vintage Studios.
The film is produced by Plan B, the production company in which Brad Pitt and his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston are partners, and directed by Michael Winterbottom. “The film will focus on the extensive collaboration among people all over the world during the search for Daniel,” stated Pitt to PEOPLE magazine. “We hope that this will increase awareness among people of different faiths, as well as portray the story of the people involved, as honestly as possible, without anger or judgment.”
According to Variety magazine, the filming will begin within the next five weeks. This is not Jolie's only project; she will soon appear on the big screen in the movie she filmed last year with Matt Damon, The Good Shepherd, and will soon lend her voice to a martial arts teacher in the animated film, Kung Fu Panda.
