Hillary Clinton has picked her running mate, Sen. Timothy M. Kaine from Virginia. The former governor and current Senator endorsed Clinton early in the primary and campaigned for her in several states.
“I could not be any more honored to stand by Hillary’s side in this very important campaign,” said Kaine at the Vice Presidential Announcement.
As governor, Kaine championed public preschool and early childhood education. As a Senator, he has been an advocate of career and technology education and efforts to fight sexual assault in high schools. He has also fought for equal housing, LGBT rights, and women’s reproductive rights.
