We brought Elena to the hands of celeb stylist Christo, who at first glance said, "those red locks have got to go!"

Our expert, who has worked with the likes of Mel B and former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, decided to trim off all the long layers in Elena's hair. "We need to shorten the length of the hair and get rid of all the different layers," he explained. "We're going to give her a fresh new haircut that is more manageable."

A TOUCH OF COLOR
Christo opted to liven up the hair with red highlights. "Red fits her look much better than blonde would, because of her skin tone," said the stylist. "Also, the highlights really compliment the new cut we gave her."

Elena suffers from hyperpigmentation, a condition that leaves dark spots on the skin caused by sun exposure. To help cover them up, professional makeup artist Tara Drake suggests applying a foundation to the entire façade that evenly matches your skin tone, but using a lighter shade over the spots. She recommends the HD Fundation by Make Up For Ever.

ADDING TO THE GAZE
Like most women, Elena has made the mistake of plucking her eyebrows too thin. So Tara filled them with an brow pencil. "The eyebrows are the frame of the face, and thick eyebrows are in," said the makeup artist.

IF LOOKS COULD KILL...
After applying makeup on her eyes, Tara finished off with a set of fake lashes, which is a hot trend right now. "Measure the false lash on each corresponding eyes because one eye may be bigger than the other, which is totally normal," advised Tara. "Also, try not to use very long eyelashes so that you don't look like a drag queen. It's not classy, and you don't want them to look so obviously fake."

For the final step, Christo removed the rollers and instead of using a brush, he ran his fingers through her hair to maintain the volume. The color and cut came out fabulous.
