H&M breaks gender barriers with new campaign

The lines between men’s and women’s fashion is slowly being blurred more and more. As new seasons come along we’ve seen more and more brands launch unisex lines – an act that caters to the transgender community, to those who don’t identify with one specific gender, and to those who like sporting androgynous style. And now, for the first time, H&M has announced that they’re going to launch theirs as well.


“It is very natural for us to launch a unisex collection as fashion is constantly evolving and intersecting and today we see there are no boundaries in democratic style,” H&M Spokesperson Marybeth Schmitt said in a statement. “Fashion should always be inclusive.”

Named “United Denim,” the entire line will become available in stores and online starting March 23rd.

As the name the line suggests, the collection consists of jeans products like bottoms, overalls, and jackets. It will also include basics like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and button-up tops. And because of H&M’s commitment to environmental sustainability, each piece is made from either recycled cotton or organic cotton.
