On Saturday, singer Vicente Fernández Jr. tied the knot with Mexican journalist Mara Patricia Casteñeda in a civil ceremony in Mexico City, Agencia México reports. The whole Fernández clan attended the event, along with the couple’s closest friends.
The groom’s brother, Alejandro Fernández, arrived with his five children to his brother’s wedding. The singer didn’t waste the chance to poke fun at the groom, joking that if he didn’t get married soon, he was going to have to raffle him off.
Actor Eduardo Yañez presided over the union, and the bride’s brother, Juan Francisco Castañeda, gave his sister away to her new husband, who was waiting anxiously to take her hand in marriage. The new wife gave a kiss to her husband’s father, legendary ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.
The event boasted the presence of stars like Gloria Trevi, Ana Gabriel, Verónica Castro and Talina Fernández, among many others. After the party, the groom’s famous father graced guests by singing a few songs with the group Banda El Recodo. At one point, Alejandro sang a duet with his dad, and all the celebrity attendees sang along. The groom, who sang some songs as well, thanked the guests for supporting him on the important day.
The bride was beautiful in her white dress and carried a bouquet of lilies, while the groom wore a charro-style suit with a white bow.
