Actors, cameramen and production team members from the soap opera Fuego en la sangre (Fire in the Blood) actually felt a fire in their bellies this past weekend. An epidemic sent 40 people to bed, including actress Sofía Vergara, after eating lunch at one of the locations where they shot several scenes for the telenovela.
“There was an epidemic with the mobile and service units, and the actors, including Sofia, who was unable to come to work because it gave her a fever,” producer Salvador Mejía told Televisa Entertainment, who added that they are performing various medical examinations.
The producer explained that the contaminated food was near a river in which the team worked, and said that although several people returned to work, the Colombian actress will be out until she recovers.
“Sofia has eight more scenes to shoot, and one of them is really important,” said Mejía, who wished her a speedy recovery so she could get back on set.
