PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL’s 50 Most Beautiful People party in New York was all about glamour and fun. Among those who turned out for the exclusive event were Angélica Vale, Jaime Camil, Christian Meier, Francisco Gattorno, Emilio Estefan, Calle 13’s René Pérez Joglar, aka Residente, Candela Ferro, Gaby Spanic Carmen Dominicci, Sara Ramírez and Ana Ortiz.
“For them to choose someone like me, with tattoos and lines going down my head [referring to his haircut], for this type of magazine is great, because they normally select other kinds of people,” said Residente, who went to the event without his girlfriend, former Miss Universe Denisse Quiñones. Jaime Camil, the leading man in La Fea Más Bella (Univisión), who recently broke up with actress Ilithya Manzanilla, enjoyed the night with a mysterious young brunette, and the two left hand in hand.
Meanwhile, Angélica Vale outdid herself dancing to Rubén Blades’ salsa rhythms. The Mexican star showed up with her mother, actress Angélica María, and was very much in demand among fans, male and female, who wanted to meet her and learn more about her experience portraying long-suffering Lety. Vale had such a blast that she was the last one to leave the party.
“I’m thrilled to be here. Hopefully, some of it [beauty]” will stick to me,” Emilio Estefan joked during the event, where he chatted with pals. The most-affectionate-couple-of-the-night award goes to Candela Ferro and Khotán Fernández, who were quite chummy. The TV host, who didn’t leave her boyfriend’s side for a second, said she was delighted to be picked among the most beautiful. “PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL is the most important magazine in the film, television, entertainment insdutry in general, and it’s an honor for me for to be in it as a Latino beauty for the third time (…) It boosted my career in 2001, and this year, the photo [the magazine picked] gave way to a new project in Telemundo for me,” she said.
