Natalia Streignard and Osvaldo Ríos will be the new stars of the soap El engaño on Telemundo. The network announced the news today after last week’s news that Fernando Carrillo and Gaby Espino would be leaving the show, which had already begun recording in Mexico City.
According to a message sent out by the network, the 37-year-old Venezuelan actress “will play Camila, a beautiful and charismatic veterinarian who thinks she’s found love, but will have to face the reality of deception.”
The 39-year-old Puerto Rican actor will take on “the role of Santiago Landeros, a brave and honest millionaire who because of a tragedy will make a sacred pact that leads him to seek revenge without even thinking of how destiny could cheat his heart.”
The network had to search for a replacement after it was revealed last week that Carrillo, 42, and Telemundo were parting ways. No details were given, but it was rumored by the Venezuelan press that the actor was fired because of his diva-like behavior. Espino, 30, decided to leave the show when she found out she was pregnant.
