Although Luis Fonsi isn’t part of the U.S. team at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the singer still triumphed for recording, along with other artists, the AT&T Team USA Soundtrack, a compilation of songs to inspire the athletes, and his song has been the most popular among the contenders.
“Last week the single ‘No Me Doy por Vencido’ was the song that was most listened to off of the compiled soundtrack, more than any song in English (there are 16 tracks in total on the CD)”, confirms a representative from AT&T Corporate Communications. And Luis Fonsi is the only Latino featured on the album. All the revenues from “No me doy por vencido”, including ringtones, CD, and answertone sales will be donated to Team USA. And even swimmer Michael Phelps, who broke the record for being the most decorated gold medalist in Olympic history, gave his thanks.
Accompanying Adamary López’s husband, who comes out with a new disc Palabras del silencio next Tuesday, other singers like 3 Doors Down, Colbie Caillat, Clique Girlz, Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, Mere, Nelly and Kate Voegele also sang on the AT&T soundtrack.
