Jorge Salinas is resting and recovering from an accident he had while taping a scene of Univision’s soap opera Fuego en la sangre. Mexican TV show La oreja (Televisa) informed that the actor lost control of the horse he and Elizabeth Alvarez -his co-star and alleged girlfriend- were riding. Salinas was injured for attempting to shield Alvarez (who was unharmed) from the fall.
Although the 39-year-old Mexican actor did not suffer any serious wounds, he had to leave the taping session and undergo mandatory rest.
“I know he is doing much better,” stated fellow cast member Nora Salinas, 31, to La Oreja. “He is a very strong man. He is very healthy, so he will probably have a very prompt recovery and will be back here with us very soon.”
Nora affirmed that she and the other cast members were moved by Jorge’s act of camaraderie: “Before he left we praised him for what he did…trying to save a colleague from a dangerous situation is admirable, my respects to Jorge.”
What some may see as a simple act of camaraderie, others may construe as evidence of the alleged romance between Salinas and Alvarez, 30. The actor’s wife, Fátima Boggio, claims they’ve been having an affair for the past three years.
