Itatí Cantoral, 32, won’t stay single for much longer. The Mexican actress got engaged in Miami Beach on July 31 at an intimate party with family and close friends in attendance.
Her fiancée, Carlos Alberto Cruz, 33 is the production coordinator of La viuda de Blanco a Telemundo telenovela. He became her friend and confidante in the course of taping the series. The lovers have been dating for approximately 5 months, they’ve been sharing an apartment in Miami for the past few weeks.
Itatí wasted no time in expressing her feelings: “I want to give this ring to my best friend and colleague on behalf of Eduardo, Roberto and of myself,” she said filled with emotion as she placed the ring on her fiancée’s finger. Cantoral was referring to the 7-year old twins she had with Mexican actor Eduardo Santamarina. She was married to him for 5 years and broke up three years ago. “Thank you so much Carlos for making me believe in love again.”
The Colombian husband to be said, “this ring symbolizes my love for this woman and hope and pray that our love will live on in a wonderful home.”
Almost immediately the couple left for Mexico, where Itatí will play the role of Frida Kahlo in a musical, while Carlos Alberto will set up film projects. Although a date hasn’t been set, they said that they’ll marry soon and live in Los Angeles with the twins.
