Following Tuesday’s news that Fernando Carrillo and Telemundo were parting ways, the website for the Venezuelan actor’s Italian fan club posted a message today that was supposedly sent from Carrillo himself.

The Venezuelan press had reported that Carrillo was fired for his diva-like behavior, constant requests to travel and for making demands not included in his contract. The 42-year-old actor denied the rumors in the message and explained that he wasn’t personally notified about being fired, but rather learned the news from the press.

The following is the message supposedly written by the actor:

Dear friends,
…You all know that rumors aren’t always true.
I’m of the opinion that what happens is always what’s suited to happen, and that God always guides the way.
No one contacted me, and I actually found out through the press before being told in person.
I still hope to resolve this without having the network’s unjust action damage my career, because I hope with all my heart that this isn’t the company’s intention.
Those who know how I am, and I assure you that the reports from the Venezuelan press are all FALSE, full of bad intentions and an attempt to hurt me personally.
I only hope that everything is resolved favorably and to continue with shooting for El engaño.
A kiss and a hug for everyone.
You’re always in my heart.
One love 4ever,
