Tex-Mex singer Emilio Navaira is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Houston, TX, after the bus that he and other band members were traveling in got into an accident early Sunday morning following a concert.
According to the police report, the 46-year-old singer was driving the vehicle when it crashed against the barrier on the highway’s shoulder. Following the accident, Navaira and six other occupants of the vehicle were rushed to the emergency room for injuries.
Navaira is considered by many to be one of the leading musicians of the Tex-Mex genre. In 2003, he won a GRAMMY for his album Acuérdate.
This isn’t the first car accident the artist has experienced. In 2005, he was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his car in San Antonio.
