The rumors were true. Singer Irvin Salinas, better known as Pewee, has decided to leave the group Kumbia All Starz in order to start a solo career.

A.B. Quintanilla III, the group’s leader of Mexican descent, said the following in a press release: “In agreement with Pewee and other members of the group, we decided that they would continue their careers as solo artists.” Quintanilla didn’t reveal which other members of the band are leaving.

“From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the very best and much success in your individual careers. They are extraordinary guys and we’ve had some beautiful moments together. I ask all of you to continue to give your unconditional love and support to them, as they’ll continue to be part of this big family,” Quintanilla expressed.

The band leader clarified that he will remain the producer and head of Kumbia All Starz, as the group prepares for the launch of their new album Planeta Kumbia. It was also announced that the remaining band members will be looking for an addition to the group amongst their fans.
