Adamari López arrived in Mexico City on Tuesday to kick off recording for the telenovela Alma de hierro. The Puerto Rican actress will play the villain in the Roberto Gómez Fernández-produced show.
With a touch of humor, the 36-year-old dished on her new role to Televisa Espectáculos: “My character’s name is Rita. I’m going to play the role of the villain, so I’m really happy, always the villain. I love wreaking havoc on other people’s lives.”
The actress is glad to head back to Mexico to work with the show’s producers. “I’m happy, excited, content that I’m starting off the year working in Mexico; very content…I’m back to working with Roberto and with [co-producer] Gisell [González], with whom I worked with on Locura de amor, which was an incredible moment for me at that time,” she said.
After playing the villain in last year’s bajo las riendas del amor, which was recorded in Miami even though it was a Televisa production, the wife of singer Luis Fonsi is back to Mexico after a hiatus from the small screen – a departure resulting from her fight with breast cancer – since 2004, when she worked on Mujer de madera.
